1. Travertine Selection & Grading
Beige Travertine offers a warm, organic aesthetic favored in contemporary wabi-sabi and minimalist designs. Our Yunfu factory grades travertine blocks by assessing color uniformity (from light cream to warm beige) and the natural distribution of its signature pores.
2. Pore Management Strategies
Its porous nature demands careful finishing. We offer three primary options: Unfilled (raw holes left exposed for a rustic, tactile look), Resin Filled (pores filled with clear or color-matched resin for a smooth, hygienic touch), and Cement Filled (a traditional method suitable for durable tabletop applications).
3. Finishing Options for Travertine
For travertine homeware, honed and brushed finishes are the most popular. A honed finish provides a flat, velvety surface, while a wire-brushed finish removes softer particles to create a textured, ancient feel. We seal all filled and honed products to resist moisture absorption.
Sourcing Note
Travertine's natural voids are a feature, not a defect. Unfilled travertine is not recommended for liquid-holding vanity items like soap dispensers.
